Description

This digital project seeks to legitimate environmental consciousness within urban circles of intellect in Florida. I'm currently working on my Masters Thesis on Kathryn Abbey Hanna who I argue is Florida's Forgotten Environmental Historian. She was an important historian and her contributions to the state's environmental consciousness is overlooked. She was the author of three histories that promoted a progressive conservationist message, she was also an active within historical societies, woman's clubs, and garden clubs, and finally she served on the Florida Board of State Parks & Historic Memorials for ten years. Most people do not realize that she is the namesake for Hanna Park. I argue in my thesis that she impacted Florida's Environmental consciousness through history and her social networks, but would like to use data (source material) to legitimate the spread of knowledge.
