Downtown Jacksonville's Changing Streets
The 12-story Mayflower Hotel opened in 1913 as the Hotel Mason. It was renamed the Mayflower Hotel in 1929. The Mayflower Hotel and other buildings were demolished in the late 1970s to make room the the Southern Bell Tower, now called the TIAA Bank Center.
