Description

Feaster Building, Micanopy, Fl.

Micanopy is just 10 minutes south of Gainesville and a mile from the busy I-75, has a rich history. Today its half-mile downtown strip is a thriving antiques center.

The Feaster Building suffered damage when the big trucks passed through downtown. It was built in 1903 by Otis Laney Feaster, Jr. Its deterioration lead to the construction of the interstate bypass in 1992. Cultural performances were once held on the third floor. The ground floor of the building once served as a General Store, and the second floor as a post office.
