Abstract

The Thomas G. Carpenter Library at the University of North Florida implemented a dedicated space for the exhibition of student artwork in the Summer of 2017. The space is collaboratively managed by the Department of Art, Art History, and Design and the Library with the intent of providing students with valuable experience in curating and mounting exhibitions. Courtenay McLeland, librarian and co-liaison to the Department of Art, Art History, and Design and art professor Amy Beecham discuss an upcoming installation of student bound books. Students in Professor Beecham’s advanced drawing class completed accordion bound sketchbooks with a focus on continuous image-making and sequential drawing. Curricular elements of preparation for the exhibit were discussed.
