Description
Historical map of North America covering regions from the Great Lakes and Nova Scotia to Central America, Caribbean with Venezuela and from New Mexico to the eastern seaboard. Includes historical notes, 4 scale bars and two engraved scenes. In Atlantic Sea area: large scene of gold mining operations with the indigenous peoples. The Pacific coast area depicts a a scene with a raging naval battle between many ships. Shows settlement place names, indigenous people tribes and villages, sea routes and British colonies east of the Appalachian Mountains. Map is based on Delisle's 1703 map. An earlier state contains the priviledge statement in the cartouche.
