Artist Biographical Information
Doug Sutherland earned a BA from the University of South Florida in 1972 and his MFA from Florida State University in 1979. He works in a wide variety of visual mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, 3-D computer animation and graphic arts technologies. During a 20-year period as a professional artist, Sutherland’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in numerous cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Jacksonville. Prior to joining UT, he instructed at Ventura College, California State University and the Otis Art Institute, as well as other colleges and centers for art. He is currently a member of the faculty of the University of Tampa in the Department of Film, Animation and New Media.
