Description

Baby Alligators just kicking out of the shells. Alligators lay 40 to 60 eggs to a nest. Thousands hatched yearly at the FLORIDA ALLIGATOR FARM ("Young Alligator Joe's Place), Jacksonville, Florida. The Largest Alligator Farm in the World. Circa 1919

On the back is a note written to Aunt Katie dated Saturday March 8, 1919 that reads:

Aunt Katie and I went to the Ostrich farm and also alligator farm at South Jacksonville today—saw a trained alligator and saw Ostrich harnessed to a wagon and driven around the (illegible). 2 different ladies rode (illegible) the colored driver—(illegible) you were home Auntie said she (illegible) I would go and ride but I did not even want to.
