Contributing Building - Rocky Mount Central City Historic District - National Register of Historic Places
This monumental five-story bank building was erected as a result of the Bank of Rocky Mount and First National Bank merger. The Washington, D. C. architecture firm of Milburn and Heister designed the building and D. J. Rose constructed it. Rocky Mount National Bank later became the National Bank of North Carolina, which closed in 1933 and reopened as People’s Bank and Trust in 1934.
