The Pre[serve] Art Exhibition is a juried exhibition that was organized to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Sawmill Slough Preserve, a pristine 382-acre natural area designated a preserve in May 2006 by UNF President John A. Delaney. Student artists were invited to submit artwork inspired by personal experiences within the Sawmill Slough Preserve, and showcase the diverse flora, fauna and landscapes found within the Preserve. The exhibition, along with this archive, will hopefully inspire others to connect with the Sawmill Slough Preserve and evoke awareness of its perpetuity.
In addition to this archive, an interactive map was created to allow visitors to virtually explore the Preserve and the places that inspired the artists. Click here to explore the map.
The Pre[serve] Art Exhibition is a partnership between the Department of Art & Design, Gallery of Art, Lufrano Intercultural Gallery and Environmental Center. Additional support was provided by the Cummer Family Foundation.
