Description

The attached file is a scatterplot showing that students' Tier 2 vocabulary and their self-regulated learning behaviors seem to be related. When points in the scatter plot bunch together it gives descriptive evidence that they might be related. In this case, students with higher Tier 2 vocabulary scores tend to have higher SRL scores. Tier 2 vocabulary words are common in written and oral instructions and help students follow directions and comprehend text. These scores came from the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test given during the classroom visit. Students' self-regulated learning was coded from classroom observation during a typical lesson. The relation between vocabulary and self-regulated learning needs to be studied, this scatter plot raises the possibility that there might be a connection.
