Abstract

The piano program for Dr. Karl Haas “Music and Humanism” as part of the 25th Anniversary Gala held on Saturday, January 25, 1997. Dr. Karl Haas has won the Peabody Award and hosts “Adventures in Good Music.” The program includes Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1, Gounod’s Ave Maria, Mozart’s Fantasia D minor, Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 2 No. 2, Schubert’s Scherzo in B flat, Schubert-Moore’s An die Musik, and Schumann’s Prophet Bird and Aufschwung (Soaring). Following the intermission, Dr Haas performed Chopin’s Nocturne in C sharp minor, Op. 37, No. 1, Debussy’s Girl with the flaxen hair (Preludes, Bk I), Albeniz’s España: Prelude, Tango, Malagueña, and Kabalevsky’s Sonatina. Members of the University of North Florida Music Department Administration are listed by position. The board members of the Friends of American Music Education (F.A.M.E.) and Jazz and American Music Supporters (J.A.M.S) are listed by alphabetically by name.
