Tajima Hiroyuki 田嶋 宏行 (1911-1984) studied and graduated from Nihon University and the Western-style paint section of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. Scribbling Green reflects the appreciation for abstract art with the black line work and organic forms in the background of the artwork. His print work started in 1946 but paused by 1950-1952 in favor of writing. His academic past evolved into his teaching of future Japanese woodblock print artists.
Note: In Japanese, the surname goes first when written.
