Artist Biographical Information

Sarah Crooks (b. 1968) received her BFA in Painting cum laude in 1989 from UNF. She also studied at the Pratt Institute and Bard’s College at Simon’s Rock. Between 1997-1999 she pursued Botanical Illustration at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. In 2014 she enrolled in the Florida Master Naturalist Program. She has exhibited widely throughout the region in group and solo exhibitions at the Museum of Science and History, the Thrasher Horne Center for the Arts, Florida State College Jacksonville among others. Her works are in numerous public and private collections. She received the Ninah May Holden Cummer award for “connecting people and the environment through art” and two Art Ventures Grants. She has also been recognized as an Outstanding Alumna by the UNF College of Arts and Sciences.
