Artist Biographical Information
Henry Louis Dupray was born in France in 1841. He was recognized as one of the Masters of 20th century painting, especially of portraits and military subjects. Dupray began exhibiting in the Salon de Paris in 1863 and won a 3rd place medal in the Salon of 1871. In 1878, Dupray received the Grand Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur, the highest French Honor of Merit, awarded to French citizens for professional activity with eminent accomplishments.
