Description
President Hopkins announces a gift of 1.25 million dollars to the University from Jacksonville civic leaders, Irene and Gaspar Lazzara, to support the completion of the new performance center on campus. With matching funds from the state of Florida, the gift becomes 2.35 million dollars. Speakers describe the importance of strengthening the region's venues for participation in arts events and the role that the new performing space will have in that process.
