On the back is a note written to Mr. Henry Sharp that reads

Jacksonville, Florida -16 Dear friends, we are having a lovely time. Wish you here had a very nice trip. Took a [pullman] sleeper with observation car from Chicago. There was a reck (sic) a head of us yes-terday so we arrive here late this a.m. will leave here in the morning at 4:30 [illegible] are a party of 6 [illegible] keeping together so I don’t feel like we are in the world alone. We are at the [Alexanderia] Hotel. We slept so warm and comfortable the 2 nights on the train. Everything first class. I feel so disappointed at not seeing you but hope you will all keep well. the light is very poor so will close with love E & G D.
