On the back is a note written to Mrs. Hettie Austin that reads:
My dear friend, I am away from home, so do not know any news. I have letters from Mary frequently. She wrote about your visit. Okle visited Mary several weeks and had a good time, she is in Washington D.C. Will start home soon. Mr. Painter has not reached (illegible) yet. He telegraphed from Poito Rica (sic). Mrs. P is busy doctoring her very fine (illegible) 5 weeks it is a job. Love to hear from you, Kate C. Stewart
