Description
Maxwell House Plant 1, Jacksonville, FL
The original Jacksonville coffee plant was built in 1910 by the Cheek-Neal Coffee Company to produce Maxwell House Coffee, in downtown Jacksonville. Today the facility is the largest producer of Roast and Ground coffee of the three locations producing Maxwell House coffee, the other two being the Houston TX facility and the San Leandro CA facility.
Raw coffee beans arrive in Jacksonville by ship and are sent to a Westside facility for cleaning and blending before being brought to the plant for roasting, grinding and packing. The product is then transferred to a Westside warehouse for distribution. It celebrated 100 years in 2010.
