Portland Head Lighthouse
The Portland Head lighthouse is located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Built in 1791, it is the oldest light in the state of Maine. The current keepers dwelling was built in 1891. The keeper's house is now home to a maritime museum. The town of Cape Elizabeth was given the lease to the property in 1990 and the deed to the lighthouse in 1993. The Coast Guard retained control of the light and fog signal. This is on the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS #73000121).
