Lawtey is a small town which came into existance in 1877, by 30 Chicagoans and was named after one of them. It had a booming economy with mansions, schools cotton gin, agriculture at one time. Now it is a ghost town.
Originally built by the SAL, the Old Train Depot is now used as a municipal building.
