Description
Woman's Club CS Dade City , FL. The Dade City Woman's Club was organized in 1910 and the clubhouse was built in 1926 in the prairie school architectural style. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The Plaque tells its history -- "Completed in 1926, on land I.M. Austin donated, this clubhouse is a monument to dedicated local women who raised $23,000 for its construction. Sallie Embry was charter president of the club in 1910. Dollie Hendley, president for the next 17 years , led fund raising efforts for this and other projects. This plaque is provided to honor charter member Ruth Embry "Polly" Touchton, by her son Charles."
