Bowdoin College Hubbard Hall, Brunswick, ME. Bowdoin College, founded in 1794, is a private liberal arts college located in the coastal Maine town of Brunswick. The college became coeducational in 1971. It was designed by Henry Vaughan and built in 1903. Built as the College's library, Vaughan designed the building to be a focal point on campus.
