Description

In this episode of the Instruction Request Podcast, Beryl and Lauren take a deep dive into the tools and tech that support immersive learning in Anthropology and Archaeology.

Lauren introduces several specialized databases—AnthropologyPlus (EBSCO), AnthroSource, and eHRAF Archaeology—that help students and faculty access critical scholarly resources. Beryl explores VR experiences that bring the past to life, including DryVisit Underwater Virtual Visit, Sharjah Archaeology Metaverse Center, Japanese Cultural Property VR Museum, Douarnenez VR, Masterworks Journey Through History, Meta VR for Good, and YouTube VR channels like Within. She also encourages faculty to create their own immersive experiences using the 360° video cameras available for checkout through the Library and Digital Humanities Institute, with filming support available from CIRT.

We also highlight the OneSearch AI Assistant, a handy tool for building smarter, more effective search strings.
