Description
Statue of Father Francisco Lopez de Mendoza Grajales raises its hands, with the Great Cross over his shoulder. On Sept. 8, 1565, Father Lopez dedicated the land in the name of God. The statue was unveiled in 1958 by its sculptor, Ivan Mestrovic, who also created a Pieta sculpture at the Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Miami.
