Mr. Smith was a professional photographer active in the Jacksonville, Florida region for over forty-five years. His work, as depicted in this collection, provides a visual documentation of the region, particularly in the transportation industry, in the second half of the twentieth century. Other materials relate to Mr. Smith’s work in film and photography for television networks, business clients, U.S. government agencies, independent film companies, and national and Jacksonville advertising agencies. The collection consists of approximately 55,000 35mm slides, mounted and unmounted photographs and advertisements, and related materials.
