A brochure for the Hotel Windle, located next door to City Hall Park, just east of Main Street on Forsyth Street, in the very center of the shopping district the Windle was convenient to many amusements in the area. The Imperial, Prince, Savoy Duval and Orpheum Theatres, street car trips to the Ostrich and Alligator farm 5c, sight- seeing auto trips over shell and macadamized roads, private auto trips to Mandarin --the home of Harriet Beecher Stowe, Atlantic Beach, Panama Lake, Trout Lake Lackawanna Springs, and the Florida Military Institute are attractions mentioned in the brochure. The brochure also mentions the many parks nearby: Hemming Park with Confederate Monument, Dignan Park with rose gardens, Riverside Park with its lakes and flowers and Boulevard Park with drives, lakes and zoo.
