Abstract
Problem: Many students lack the research knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their degree program.
Solution: Faculty-Librarian partnerships for digital age research readiness.
Students enter UNF at varying times in their academic careers. Whether they are FTIC, transfers, graduated students continuing on immediately after completing the Bachelor’s degree, or going back to school after time in the professional world, our students need to have relevant research skills to succeed. How can faculty ensure that their diverse students are well prepared for research assignments? Some faculty members offer in-class instruction for students on the terminology and concepts associated with research in their field. Indeed, some courses exist for this purpose. But what if your course is already packed with content and there is no time to do this in class? What if you teach online? Learn how the Carpenter Library’s Research & Instruction Librarians can work with you to help students develop the digital age skills necessary for academic research.
