On the back is a note written to Mr. J. W. Shumaker dated 11/19/09 that reads:
Received both cards and was glad for them. Know you have a nice visit at M.CJ. Wish we could have been there too. Anxious to see you back to hear all of interest you will have to tell. Hurry back. It got right cold here yesterday and is still cool. Guess you are catching it. Everything is going ok. Let us hear from you telling where you will return. I forwarded Monday’s paper and Mon eve. I went to T.M. office and they took your (illegible) dress and said they would send it to (illegible) to 25th. I hope you are getting it. If not let me know. John.
