Baron York Building Clarkesville GA. Clarkesville was chartered in 1823 as the county seat of Habersham county, which it remains today.
This brick two-story structure was the first commercial building on this side of the square. Named for V.C. Baron’s Feed and Seed store and M.C. York’s dry goods store. This is one of two surviving 19th-century commercial buildings in downtown Clarkesville. National Register of Historic Places NRIS #82002426
