Tampa Theatre ( Florida Avenue Side), Tampa, Fl. The Tampa Theatre and Office Building is a historic U.S. theater and city landmark in the Uptown District of downtown Tampa, Florida. On January 3, 1978, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Built in 1926 as one of America’s most elaborate “movie palaces,” was designed by famed theater architect John Eberson. In 1973 it had to be closed down, but it reopened in 1977.
