In 1987 Newberry's Historic District was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and Newberry’s Downtown area is home to the Kincaid building. which was built in 1880 in Jonesville. Stringfellow and Williams used it for their mercantile store. In 1900, Thomas Kincaid used it for his retail store. later it became a bookstore.
