New Baird Building, Gainesville, Fl.
The New Baird Building, on 112-116 Southeast 1st Street was built by Eberle Baird, in 1911, the founder of Baird Hardware, this tan brick building remains virtually unaltered. Various tenants, including a confectionery store, Gainesville Chevrolet and the Hart Furniture company have occupied the first floor. The second floor served as professional offices for people like architect Sanford Goin and businessman James C. Adkins. One of its distinctive features is an original central skylight.
