Description

The Catherine Street Fire Station is located in Jacksonville, Florida. It was built in 1902 from salvaged materials from the original station built in 1886 and destroyed in the Great Fire of 1901. The station was deactivated in 1933. From 1952-1973 the building was used as storage for the Jacksonville Fire Department. In 1973 the building was renovated and renamed the Jacksonville Fire Museum. In 1993, the building was moved to Metropolitan Park. It is on the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS #72000309).
