Description
The Avery Building is located on the Broughton Hospital campus in Morganton, North Carolina. It was built in 1882 and designed by Samuel Sloan. The building is known as a 'Kirkbride Building' as it followed the plan of Thomas Story Kirkbride. The building has a gothic look with cupolas, dormers, and cross gables. It is on the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS #77000996) and a part of the Broughton Hospital Historic District.
