In the 1930s to 1940s Otter Creek was the second largest community in Levy County with a population approaching 1,000. This is the Smith Store in Otter Creek Florida. It was run by Mr. Fred Sanders, for many years . In 2007 the City Council created a local historic district consisting of neighborhoods with company town residences.
