Description
The Butler Flats Lighthouse is located in New Bedford, Massachusetts in the New Bedford outer harbor, at the mouth of the Acushnet River. Built in 1898, it is known as a sparkplug lighthouse. It was operational until 1978 when it was leased to the city of New Bedford. This is on the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS #87001530).
