This library building was originally designed by Kemp, Bunch & Jackson in 1958. This library opened on May 25, 1961 as Northside Branch in the remodeled Brentwood Theater. Replaced the earlier Springfield Branch, and was renamed Brentwood Library in 1992. The style of the building is Art Moderne.
