The Friday Musicale is the oldest musical organization in Florida having been founded in 1890. Claudia L'Engle Adams was the founder of the musical club. The group was named Ladies Friday Musicale, with the goal to promote the culture of musical art in Jacksonville. The main auditorium at 645 Oak Street is an outstanding state of the art facility which accommodates 250 at the organization's Friday concerts and is home to two Steinway D grand pianos. Admission to concerts is free, and off street parking is available at Friday Musicale’s private parking lots close to the auditorium.
When no events are scheduled, the auditorium is available for concerts, recitals, meetings, wedding receptions, parties and other private events on a rental basis. It is the most sought after venue located in the Riverside area of Jacksonville.
