Description

Glover School 1 Bealsville FL

The Glover School is a historic former school in Bealsville near Plant City, Florida. It is located at 5110 Horton Road. On November 29, 2001, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, NRIS #01001307.

Today, the historic Glover School sits mostly empty, awaiting a $740,300 renovation, part of which was promised by Hillsborough County as far back as 2005. Broken and boarded windows dot the 77-year-old structure. Nearby, a rusted slide catches the rain. Not so long ago, this Plant City community was the epicenter of a fledgling community of freed slaves.
