Description
Train Depot, Homerville GA
Homerville's depot, known in its earliest days as Station No. 11, served the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad for many years. After ACL successor CSX closed it on May 1, 1983, it was rented to local businesses until the City obtained it in early 2004. Now rehabilitated, it houses the local tourism office as well as the offices of Homerville's Better Hometown program.
The rehabilitation work was completed in 2010 by Charles E. Lewis Construction of Douglas, Georgia. Important historic details were treated with care. The depot is available for rental.
