Millen Passenger Depot, GA.
Millen, the county seat for Jenkins County and only minutes from the Ogeechee River, has been a regional hub of transportation in Georgia since 1854 when the railroad came to town.Two major depots located along Cotton Avenue indicate the significance of rail transportation in Millen.
This passenger depot was built in the early 1915 and is currently in use by Norfolk Southern Railway, which is a merger of the Southern Railway and Norfolk & Western. Today Norfolk Southern and CSX are the dominant rairoads in Georgia.
