Millen Freight Depot, GA.
Millen, the county seat for Jenkins County and only minutes from the Ogeechee River, has been a regional hub of transportation in Georgia since 1854 when the railroad came to town.Two major depots located along Cotton Avenue indicate the significance of rail transportation in Millen. The old freight depot at Millen, built in 1868 by the Central of Georgia, provides a historic setting for the local chamber of commerce. Inside is a museum operated by the Jenkins County Historical Society.
