Blackshear GA Depot 1

The Blackshear railroad depot in Pierce County, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, houses the Chamber of Commerce as well as the county's Heritage Museum and genealogical library.

The depot was built in 1902. The Heritage Museum documents the rich history of Pierce County. Inside the museum one will find exhibits of the manufacturing process of tobacco, farm tools, the most informative display about the Civil War prison camp on the outskirts of Blackshear . The Genealogical Library contains more than 200 books pertaining to Georgia genealogy.
