Captured Navy Yard for Florida Forces, Jan. 12, 1861. Ordered to West Point 1856, resigned Commission to become President Alabama-Florida R.R. Appointed Major-General Commanding State Troops, Pensacola 1861. Died at home SW Corner Palafox and Wright Sts., Feb. 8, 1870. Chase Street commemorates his name.
