The marker reads: "This Florida Cracker Cottage was one of several built in the 1860s by Nathaniel and Elizabeth Hasty, early Ponce Park settlers, who are buried across the street in a family cemetery, along with their faithful handyman, “Cocoa” Bill Williams. In the early 1940s, this cottage served as the last Post Office in Ponce Park With Ellen Meyer as Postmistress."
