Buckman Hall UF. Buckman Hall, an historic building located in Murphree Area on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida, United States. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places # 74000609 on January 11, 1974. The building was named for Henry Buckman, the legislator who authorized the higher education consolidation bill, known as the Buckman Act, which established the University of Florida in Gainesville. Buckman and Thomas Hall were the original University of Florida buildings.
