A brochure for The Seminole Hotel, Jacksonville, Florida -- Air-conditioned –Jacksonville’s Leading Hotel – A J.B. Pound Hotel. At top: A room and a bath for a dollar and a half at “Jacksonville’s Leading Hotel”. The brochure includes information about Jacksonville and the many amenities offered in the area including quick economical transportation to golf courses, 40 miles of wide white sand beaches, fishing and hunting, public playgrounds, oak-shaded parks, municipal swimming pools, tourist center, night clubs and theaters. It also calls Jacksonville the “working capital” of Florida. The hotel amenities include a spacious restful lobby, inviting dining rooms and modern comfortable bedrooms with efficient unobtrusive service, air conditioned barber shop, Turkish Baths, laundry service and lobby transportation desk. Images included in the brochure: Images include The Indian Room –cocktail bar and lounge, the Lobby and the air conditioned Coffee Shop. Room rates started at $2.50 for a room with bath. The hotel was located in Downtown Jacksonville on the corner of Forsyth Street and Hogan Street, the center of Jacksonville’s shopping, business and theater district.
