Abstract
Patients in palliative medicine and hospice will commonly experience pain, and historically, it is poorly managed. Appropriately managing pain is vital because it affects quality of life and can prevent unnecessary suffering. This article seeks to educate on what comprises pain and how to provide pain management that is safe and effective.
