Description
Image focuses on the entrance to the Columbia County courthouse in Lake City, Florida. The view includes the cupola and dome which were removed before 1989, but were restored in 2003 during a major renovation and expansion of the courthouse. It was built in 1905 in the Classical Revival architectural style and designed by Frank Pierce Milburn. Previous log structures (1848, 1860, 1867, and 1874) burned. This is a contributing building on the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS #93001157).
