Description
The Martha Washington Hotel is located in Jacksonville, Florida. It was built as a private residence for Bryan W. Blount in 1911. By 1938, it had opened as a women only hotel (policy lasted until World War II) and remained a hotel until 1977. It was saved from demolition and re-opened as condominiums. This has been designated as a historical landmark by the Jacksonville Historic Landmarks Commission. It is a contributing building on the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS #85000689) and a part of the Riverside Historic District.
